Ouu, Movie Suggestion!

I was suggested a movie to see by "Cosmo," through E-Mail! As you can see the movie was a somewhat old one, a decade old, and it was pretty good for an cliche action blockbuster...

"Twister (1996)"

So...I never saw this. It always came across as rather..lame/dumb. But I was referred to it, I got it today and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. This movie is FULL of cliche's though. You've got the team of dicks vs. the team of cool guys, ones a doofus, ones a smart chick, ones a fat crazy guy, ones a smart nerdie chick..yeah, you get the point.

The plot is quite simple: Husband and wife finalizing divorce, Guy drives there with his new fiancee to get signed divorce papers. They both used to chase tornados. Husband had an invention..never got built, while he was off his ex-wife built it, 4 of them. It shoots these sensor balls into tornado to get information for a better warning. Eventually the guy ends up deciding to spend the day with them testing his invention for the first time with them.

Yes. That's the plot..you then watch as they try to get the machine working. It's a nice fun entertaining movie. Of course..he ends up dumping his new wife and the movie ends with him kissing his ex. Hoorah, satisfying every womans need for a happy and cliche' ending. The action is good..there's only so much you can do with Tornados..I think it was a bit too long but it was good.

What I don't understand is..are there seriously that many tornados in Oklahoma (I believe that's where the movie takes place)? There were 5 different fucking tornados in one day in the movie..I know nothing about tornados so if this is a stupid question..please excuse my idioticness...Just made no sense to me.

The acting is good. Helent Hunt is good, the guy is good. One of the team members is Philip Seymour Hoffman (Won an oscar this year for "Capote".) All around pretty good acting. Except for one guy who seriously overacts in the end as a piece of metal comes flying towards their car..hilarious.

The score? I didn't hear much of it. In the beginning I think I heard some guitar in it..it kinda' fit. From what I've read guitar doesn't usually fit in scores. I've yet to really hear any with them in it majorly. This was just a very small section with guitar...but otherwise I didn't notice it much. Maybe the wind sound effects overpowered it? When I thought about the score it was usually silent besides the obvious spots such as landscape shots, etc.

Overall it was pretty good. I liked it, I probably won't watch it again within..the next coming months..but it was a nice movie to watch. Entertaining and fun.

IMDB link for "Twister."

Send me more suggestions! Something coming tomorrow night maybe..I don't know yet. It depends on if I find the time to watch something or if any interesting news pops up and so forth.
